| The Sony F5/F55 Tornado Recoil expands upon our standard Recoil kit for the Sony F5/F55 camera. It includes our F5/F55 Baseplate, a QR Shoulder Pad, and the Recoil Handgrip Kit – a unique mechanical handgrip follow focus set up. The Sony F5/F55 Baseplate is set at a fixed height for these cameras when used with a follow focus or matte box. The baseplate attaches to your camera with a ¼ 20 and 3/8 16 screw and has standard tripod mounting ¼ 20 and 3/8 16 screw holes underneath. The 12” rods running through the Recoil can be extended to hold additional accessories at the front or back of the kit. Directly underneath the Sony F5/F55 Baseplate is the Zacuto QR Shoulder Pad. The QR Shoulder Pad puts the camera directly on top of your shoulder for balance and comfort. It sets the camera in the correct position so your eye can comfortably reach the Sony viewfinder. The QR Shoulder Pad is a two part system that includes the shoulder pad itself and a separate dovetail plate that screws into the bottom of your camera or baseplate just like an ordinary tripod plate. The QR Shoulder Pad attaches, changes positions, and detaches from the dovetail plate with a quick release lever. The dovetail plate can act as a traditional tripod plate and snap directly into a tripod, monopod, slider or other standard piece of equipment with the Zacuto Tripod Adapter Plate (not included) or other quick release plate.* Instead of traditional handgrips, this rig includes our Recoil Handgrip Kit. The Recoil Handgrip Kit is comprised of a Zgrip Z-Mount Zwivel handgrip, a Z-Drive follow focus and the Zacuto Tornado grip. The Zgrip Z-Mount Zwivel is a complete single handgrip set up that slides and clamps onto a single 15mm rod. The rod attached to the handle is 4.5” long. The Zacuto Z-Drive is a unique, universal follow focus, perfect for a Recoil rig set up. It curves away from the operator at a 60 degree angle creating space and distance from the lens for comfortable use when the camera is on your shoulder. It comes with a fixed 1 ¾” diameter .8 pitch gear to connect to your lens. The Tornado attaches to the Z-Drive whip port and works in tandem with the Z-Drive to create a unique mechanical follow focus handgrip perfect for single operator shoulder mounted work. |
